The Yorkshire Sausage has its Grand Unveiling

After a County-wide search that has been on-going for several months, with over 4000 sausages tasted and more than 3,300 votes cast, the most popular Yorkshire Sausage Recipe was announced today. Yorkshire Day, the 1st of August, is obviously the correct day to make such an announcement!

Celebrity Chef Rosemary Shrager was our guest of honour, and unveiled the Official Yorkshire Sausage as recipe A; a simple pork sausage containing salt, white pepper, mace, nutmeg, ground coriander and parsley. This is a universally popular sausage and ended up with quite a lead over the rest of the contenders! As a worthy winner, we are hoping to see this sausage on the breakfast menus of Hotels and B&Bs throughout Yorkshire, as well as people’s breakfast, lunch and tea plates at home!Watch movie online Get Out (2017)

In order to ensure that as many people who want to try the sausage can, and ensure that the Yorkshire Sausage becomes as well known as the Cumberland and Lincolnshire Sausages, we will be rolling the recipe out to butchers throughout the county, all they need to do is contact us and we will give them all the details. As well as being in butchers, the Yorkshire Sausage will be available in Morrisons stores throughout West Yorkshire:

  • Keighley
  • Bradford Victoria
  • Enterprise 5 Bradford
  • Guiseley
  • Yeadon
  • Heckmondwike
  • Huddersfield Waterloo
  • Kirkstall
  • Morley

The support of Welcome to Yorkshire has been instrumental throughout this campaign, and Gary Verity (Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire) said

“This search for a winning recipe has captured the imagination of the great Yorkshire public and we’ve been delighted to see that thousands of people have had a say in deciding what will be forever known as the Yorkshire Sausage. It’s been put to the taste test, and now we have a winner, we hope to see the Yorkshire Sausage on the menus of businesses across Yorkshire and indeed the UK.”
